Antique Miniature Major listed Austrian Artist Josef Kinzel (1852 1925)
Josef Kinzel was active in Austria. A well executed diminutive Continental oil on board of a guest in a kitchen or inn. About 4x5, it is crisp with some very light losses, as pictured. Biography from Neumeister Kunstauktionen, Munich. Josef Kinzel studied at the Vienna Academy under Christian Griepenkerl, Carl Wurzinger, Eduard Engerth, Carl von Blaas, and August Eisenmenger. He then studied in Munich with Alois Gabl and Otto Seitz, where he specialized in genre painting.
Josef Kinzel is considered one of the last representatives of the Viennese genre painting. I will sell my paintings the same way I collected them for the past 50 years, by the value of their artistic quality workmanship and academic excellence. Just trying to recoup a little before my Heirs sell them on a Yard sale. The item "Antique Miniature Major listed Austrian Artist Josef Kinzel (1852 1925)" is in sale since Friday, February 28, 2020.
